Why should I use in-store scanning?
A scanner is an effective way to connect with your customers at the store level. It allows customers to redeem coupons, accumulate points, track visits, and more. This technology helps link your customers' digital identities with their real-life purchases. Scanners are particularly well-suited for quick-service and over-the-counter restaurants. Dine-in restaurants can also benefit from scanning, but they typically do this by having customers take a picture of a QR code using the waiter’s device, such as a ToastGo device.
Appfront integrates with Toast scanners. The scanner is used for two main scenarios:
Scanning for Rewards (like Starbucks)
Scanning for payment "scan to pay."
Enabling Appfront Rewards
How to Enable Appfront In-Store Rewards
Appfront provides a Toast 360 rewards solution. This means our rewards will work online (via the Mobile App and Ordering platform) and integrate seamlessly with the Toast POS terminal and Toast Kiosk.
To activate Appfront rewards, we need to ask Toast (Appfront's integration team will start this conversation) to:
1. Enable Rewards In-Store
2. Enable Rewards in Kiosk
Recently, Toast has made this option available in their back-end system.
To activate the Appfront rewards module in your in-store Toast terminal, go to the Rewards Program tab and enable Appfront.
How do you enable Appfront rewards in Toast Kiosk?
To enable rewards on Toast's Kiosk - Appfront currently needs to ask Toast to enable that manually. Just ask your Appfront rep and we'll take care of it directly with the Toast team.
