Overview
Virtual number blockers are one of the most effective ways to prevent fraudulent activity. Chargebacks can be tricky, so we always recommend running a variety of blockers as part of a comprehensive toolset for maximum efficiency.
What is a Virtual Number?
Virtual number is not a real number provided by one of the known cellular networks, aka, Verizon, Sprint, ATT, T-Mobile.
In today’s world, it’s easy for people to generate mobile numbers using online services- even Google Voice numbers. This has become a well-known tactic for fraud.
How it works?
On the Appfront side, you can choose to block all new sign-ups by default. The system will automatically check each phone number to determine whether it’s real or virtual.
We do this by sending an API call to the cellular network (note: there is a cost associated with this), and we receive verification directly from them.
BlackList
Once a customer is blocked - the system automatically put him under a blacklist
