Snooze vs. close: what's the difference?
Snooze is for short, temporary pauses — an unexpected rush, a nearby event, or just needing to pause online orders for an hour or two. Online ordering automatically resumes once the snooze duration ends, so there's nothing to remember to turn back on. You can also show customers a message explaining the pause (e.g., "Paused for an event, back in 2 hours").
Close temporarily is better suited to full-day closures, like a holiday. It does not auto-resume — someone has to manually toggle ordering back on. If you run multiple locations, that's manual work at every location, so use it deliberately.
Managing it from your phone
The portal works on mobile, so a manager can snooze a location from their phone without a computer. Bookmark the portal to your home screen for quick access in a pinch.
Scheduling closures and openings in advance
Under Ordering > Scheduling, you can create scheduling events ahead of time:
Store closing override — schedule a future closure (e.g., next Christmas) for specific hours, locations, and serving options, with a custom message to customers. Set it once and it waits until the date arrives.
Store opening override — the inverse: open online ordering on a day or time you'd normally be closed, e.g., a pop-up event or special brunch hours.
Important: a scheduling event only takes effect once you click both Enable and Publish.
