Branded Subdomains & SEO Best Practices

Why a branded ordering subdomain matters for SEO and tracking, and how to optimize your Google Business listing around it.

What is a branded subdomain?

By default, your ordering site lives at yourbusiness.appfront.app. A branded subdomain moves it to something like order.yourbusiness.com — under your own domain. There's no additional cost to opt in.

Why it matters

  • Brand consistency — customers order from your URL, not a third-party one.

  • SEO — a subdomain is indexed as part of your main domain, giving you more indexed pages and helping your overall Google ranking.

  • Trackability — better integration with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, for clearer reporting on where orders come from.

AI-native search and local intent

As more search happens through AI assistants, location signals matter even more. Make sure your landing pages reference service areas, landmarks, and local language — that combination of indexed pages, Google ranking, and local relevance is what gets you surfaced when someone nearby is searching.

Google Business Profile best practice

Once your subdomain is live, go into your Google Business Profile and set the ordering link to your branded subdomain only. Remove competing links (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats) from the "order online" section — every click that goes to a third-party domain is a click, and SEO value, that doesn't go to your own site.
