Setting Up Stripe (Even With an Existing Payment Processor Connected)

If a location wants to move to Stripe for payment processing, they don't need to disconnect their current processor first. AppFront lets you connect Stripe alongside an existing processor so the location stays live on payments while Stripe is verified.

  1. Go to Locations and search for the relevant location.

  2. Open the location's Location Details (the pink button), then click Connect Stripe.

  3. Click Connect with Stripe and fill in the details to start the Stripe onboarding flow.

  4. Enter the location's email address and continue through the Stripe onboarding steps.

  5. At the end of onboarding, Stripe will show two upsell offers — skip both. You don't need either one.

  6. Return to the AppFront portal and confirm both processors show as connected (e.g. Shift4 connected for Point of Sale, and Stripe connected).

  7. Once the Stripe portion is done, let Support know so they can revoke the old processor's payment token (e.g. the Shift4 Payment Token).

  8. Monitor closely over the following week to confirm payment stability and watch for any change in volume.

Notes

The existing processor stays active and connected until Stripe is confirmed working, so there's no gap in payment processing during the switch.
