Order Ready Notification

Go to the location you want to enable, in the Advanced Settings > Configure > locations page (link here)

Scroll down on the bottom right hand side to find this toggle:

Switch on this toggle and make sure to select the settings that open up according to your preferences:
a. Text message - enter the order ready text message you want to use. you can use {orderNumber} in the message text if you would like to send the order number.
b. Notify when ready from KDS - only select this if you have a KDS in your kitchen, this will automatically connect to Toast and check the order status to notify right when the order is marked as ready
c. Notification channels - you can decide if you would like to notify with push , text or both.
d. the following options will be explained further later in the article if your kitchen setup requires them.

Just by enabling this toggle, you will now see the following option on your Activity Log:

Send Text Message for Order Ready - with a nice send button or "SENT" label. You can always click this if you do not have a KDS and the customer will immediately receive the order ready notification.

This is the simplest setup, here you will just need to make sure that the items on the menu which shows up in your Appfront online ordering site have the correct prep stations and selecting the items from the KDS screen will just send the order ready notification. Please notice you have an option to select in the Kitchen and Ticket setup page in Toast:

We recommend using "Enable individual item fulfillment" so you are able to separately prepare each of the items, and the order won't trigger the order ready notification when marking the first item on the order as ready. But this is dependent on your restaurant kitchen setup.

If you have a few prep stations, and the items on the menu are distributed between a few different KDS screens, you need to make sure you have the setup in Toast (in the Kitchen and Ticket setup page) as follows:
We want Two-Level fulfillment enabled

Scrolling down on this page in Toast, please be sure to choose "Enable individual item fulfillment" and in the "Fulfillment method", select "Fulfill at each station independently'

If you have a few prep stations and an Expo Screen, and the items on the menu are distributed between a few different KDS screens, you need to make sure you have the setup in Toast (in the Kitchen and Ticket setup page) as follows:

⚠️ IMPORTANT STEP ⚠️: In order to make sure that the order ready notification is not sent before the items are marked as ready on the Expo screen, it is very important to do the following step:
You will need to create a menu item named "Notify When Ready" under the hidden Appfront menu items:

This item will be added to each order at the bottom of the order, and will should only be set to "Prep Station: Expo" (the expediter)

After adding this item, please select "Sync menu" on the Appfront location and once the item comes in go to the location's order notification ready settings in Appfront under: Advanced Settings > Configure > locations page (link here) and select the item just added in the setting
"For Expediter setup - expediter pending item:"
