Setting Up Notification Center Alerts

How to configure bell and email alerts in the Notification Center, what each alert type means, and who on your team should be subscribed to each.

Notification Center Overview

The Notification Center lets you get alerted — in the portal and by email — when specific events happen at your locations, so issues get caught and routed to the right person quickly.

Where to find it

  • Bell icon (top of the portal) — shows in-app notifications for the events you've turned on.

  • Settings > Manage Subscriptions — shows the full event log of everything that's happened, and is where you manage email subscriptions.

  • Settings > Bell Events — where you choose which events trigger an in-app bell notification.

Available alert types

  • Delivery failure — a delivery order failed to process.

  • Store closed / Store opened — a location was manually closed or reopened.

  • Store snoozed — a location was temporarily snoozed (paused).

  • Visibility changed — a location's visibility setting was updated.

  • Unmapped gift — a gift card came in that isn't mapped correctly.

  • Tax rate changed — a location's tax rate was updated.

  • Subscription processing failure — a recurring subscription payment failed to process.

  • Compensation gift sent — a compensation gift was issued to a customer.

  • Items out of stock — a menu item was marked out of stock.

Setting up subscriptions

Email subscriptions can be added per email address, so different alerts can be routed to different people — you don't need one inbox catching everything. Add or edit subscriptions from Settings > Manage Subscriptions.

Who should be subscribed to what

As a starting point, here's a suggested way to divide these alerts by department — adjust based on how your team is structured:

  • Operations / Store management — Store closed, Store opened, Store snoozed, Visibility changed, Items out of stock.

  • Support / Customer Success — Delivery failure, Compensation gift sent.

  • Finance / Billing — Subscription processing failure, Tax rate changed.

  • Gift Card admin — Unmapped gift.

Once notifications pop up in the bell, they're also logged permanently in the event log under Manage Subscriptions, so nothing gets lost even if an email is missed.
