Group Landing Pages: Deep Link Click vs. Registration Group Campaigns

How to choose between and set up the two group landing page campaign types: Deep Link Click (all users) and Registration Group (new users only).

Overview

A landing page is an effective way to drive sign-up traffic from social media, ads, or any external link. There are two campaign types to choose from, depending on who you want the campaign to reach.

Ask yourself: should this go out to everyone who clicks the link (new and existing customers), or only to new customers?

  • All users (new or existing) — use a Deep Link Click campaign

  • New users only — use a Registration Group campaign

Deep Link Click Campaigns

Anyone who clicks the link triggers the campaign. If they're already logged in, the reward appears on their rewards page (or they're added to the campaign's group) as soon as they click. If they're not logged in, the campaign triggers as soon as they sign up or log in.

To set this up, create a group for customers who click the link to be added to (this can be done from within the campaign page). In the campaign trigger settings, select that group under "Group for deep link" — the resulting URL appears under "Deep Link" once the campaign is enabled.

The "Hash for deep link" is a randomly generated ID for the campaign. You can change it, but be careful: changing it breaks any link that's already been published, and it must stay unique so it doesn't accidentally trigger a different Deep Link Click campaign.

Registration Group Campaigns

The easiest way to drive and segment sign-up traffic into a group — every customer who signs up through this landing page is tracked and can be targeted in future campaigns.

Build a dedicated sign-up flow with its own landing page. Example: "Sign up here via our Instagram Super Bowl promo and get a free pizza" → https://skinnypizza.appfront.ai/?openSignup=true&signupGroupAlias=SocialSuperBowl

Every customer who signs up through that link is automatically enrolled in the associated promotion.

Setup

  1. Create a new group (e.g., "SocialCampaign").

  2. Build the landing page link by adding /?openSignup=true&signupGroupAlias=[GroupName] to your ordering URL.

  3. Connect the group to the campaign.

Note: Registration Group landing pages currently only apply to new sign-ups — an existing member who visits the link will not receive the campaign.
