Members Vs. Guests

Members, by definition, are restaurant customers who signed up for the rewards program.

Becoming a member

To become a member, the user will have to opt in using one of the options below:

  • Sign up via the Mobile App

  • Sign up via the Online Ordering URL

  • In-Store Signup

Only registered customers can enjoy the perks of loyalty programs and receive marketing materials.

Customers who sign up via the POS can join your loyalty program; however, they won't be able to receive marketing materials or join custom customer groups. This is why it is best to encourage customers to sign up online via the ordering website or mobile app.

Customer Profile Fields

The phone number is our system's Unique identifier.

Primary Email—When you sign up with a new email but the same phone number, Appfront saves your original email but updates the latest email to your primary email.
Emails can be edited from the customer's profile.

Updating Customer fields - phone number and email?

All customer fields can be updated on the customer's profile page. Just locate your customer by phone number/email or other means and click edit on the required field.

What fields can be updated in the customer's profile?

  • Name

  • Phone number (mobile number)

  • Email

  • Birthday

  • Groups

How do we import customers' data to the platform?

Option 1: Import customers via a spreadsheet

Send our team a spreadsheet with the following separate fields, we'll import it into our database:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Phone number

  • Email (Optional)

  • Points balance (Optional)

  • Birthday (Optional)

  • Card Number (Optional)

  • Group (Optional) [tag your customer into a specific group]

  • Last Trans. Date

  • Location

  • Store Credit

  • Unregistered (true/false) - true if Appfront should upload the user as a guest

  • Unsubscribe SMS - true if the customer's phone number should be opted out from receiving SMS/MMS

  • Unsubscribe email - true if the customers' email should be marked as unsubscribed

How do I manually add a customer?

Currently not supported. You'll need to reach out and ask Appfront's support team
